Effective 31 October 2026
The current Android test release does not yet include the local reading mode for children described in section 4. That mode is prepared for a future update. Children under 13 should not create or use an online account in the current test release.
Speed Read It is operated by Seema Singh as an individual under the HyperMind Studios brand. This policy describes the app and its informational website at speed-read-it.com. Contact haywirestudios11@gmail.com about privacy or support.
1. Information the app handles
| Information | How it is used and stored |
|---|---|
| Account and profile | Email address, user ID, name, username, age, authentication provider, and account timestamps are used for sign-in and profile management. These are stored using Supabase. |
| Sign-in information | Google Sign-In supplies basic identity information such as your email and profile name. Email sign-in uses one-time codes. Supabase maintains the authentication session on your device. The current Google sign-in integration does not request Gmail, Google Drive, or contacts access. |
| Library and reading activity | Imported book files and text, bookmarks, reading positions, preferences, and reading statistics are stored on your device. Statistics may include book titles, words read, session time, selected pace, completion, and streaks. The current app does not upload your imported library or reading history to your account database. |
| Purchases | For Android Pro purchases, our backend processes your account ID, product and purchase identifiers, purchase token, purchase state, expiry, and acknowledgement information to verify purchases and maintain access. A hashed account identifier links the purchase to your app account. Google Play processes payment details; the app does not collect your card number. |
| Technical requests and support | Service providers may process IP addresses, request times, and technical request information to deliver and secure their services. If you contact support, we receive the email address and information you choose to send. Do not send passwords, payment card details, or sign-in codes. |
2. Why information is used
Information is used to operate accounts and sign-in, deliver requested authentication emails, keep local reading settings and progress, verify and restore purchases, respond to support and privacy requests, and protect the service against misuse. We do not use Google account information for advertising. The current app has no advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
3. Providers and external content
Information is shared with providers as needed for the functions described below:
- Supabase: authentication, account profiles, database storage, and server-side purchase verification functions.
- Resend: delivery of sign-in emails through the Supabase SMTP configuration. This delivery includes your recipient email and the authentication email content.
- Google: optional Google Sign-In, Google Play purchases and subscription management, and Google Cloud Pub/Sub purchase notifications to our backend.
- Project Gutenberg, Cloudflare, and Jina AI: the Explore feature requests public books and cover images over the internet. Gutenberg downloads may use a Jina AI proxy as a fallback. These requests can expose your IP address and the requested public content URL to the provider handling the request.
We may disclose information where legally required or necessary to protect users and the service. We do not sell personal information. Provider processing may take place outside your country. The informational website is hosted by Cloudflare Pages, which processes requests through Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Technical request information may be processed outside your country.
4. Local reading for children and parent-managed online features
Our intended audience includes children under 13 through local reading without accounts or purchases. This experience is planned for the next update and is not yet available in the current Android test release. The planned local-reading update asks age on the device before account services start, and offers local reading without providing an age. An under-13 answer leads to local mode. That mode offers imported reading files without account creation, online book browsing, or purchases. The precise entry-screen age answer is not stored or sent to our servers; the local/online choice is stored on the device. Local statistics are disabled by default. Imported books remain on the device, and parents should choose appropriate reading material.
A parent or adult guardian can open online mode through parent settings and use their own account to manage online features. This interaction barrier is not identity verification or a parental-consent mechanism for creating a child account. The planned update does not offer child accounts. Its restrictions are not present in the current test release. The adult should switch back to local reading before returning the device to a child. An online session may remain active until switched back or its session ends. The device library is shared between modes.
Parents can raise a privacy concern or request review or deletion of existing child account information at haywirestudios11@gmail.com. Do not email a child’s identification documents.
5. Retention and deletion
Local books and reading data remain in the app’s device storage until removed or the app’s storage is cleared. The app offers book removal and a reading-statistics reset. Clearing storage or uninstalling can remove local data; device backup and restore settings may affect what remains. Signing out is not an account-deletion request.
We keep account and profile information while your account remains active so that we can provide the account service. We keep app-side purchase records while needed to verify and restore your membership, handle purchase issues, and reconcile its status. After a verified account-deletion request, we remove the authentication account, associated profile, membership entitlement records, and app-side purchase-token records from the active app database. If a specific legal obligation or active dispute requires some information to be retained, we limit it to that purpose and explain the affected information and applicable retention requirement in our response. We delete it when that requirement ends. Google keeps its own payment and order records under its policies.
To request access, correction, or deletion, see the account-deletion page or contact haywirestudios11@gmail.com from the account email where possible. Identity may need to be verified before action. Cancelling a subscription and deleting an app account are separate actions: manage renewals through Google Play. Deletion requests are handled manually after identity verification, rather than instantly or automatically. We respond and act without undue delay and within applicable legal time limits. Residual information may remain in provider-managed backups and technical logs until those copies expire under the provider’s retention process. Deleted account information is not used to operate an active account; if a backup is restored, the deletion must be reapplied. See the deletion page for the request process.
6. Your choices
- Choose whether to use Google Sign-In or email sign-in where offered.
- Remove imported books and reset reading statistics using the app’s available controls.
- Adjust reading preferences and the reading-statistics choice.
- Manage or cancel Google Play subscriptions in Google Play.
- Contact support about account information and applicable privacy rights. Parents can manage the local/online setting as described above. Existing child account records from earlier builds may be raised with support.
7. Website storage and security
This website does not include sign-in, advertising, analytics trackers, external fonts, or marketing cookies. The reading preview runs in your browser and does not submit its activity to a server. Cloudflare Pages serves the site and may process technical access and security logs, including IP addresses and request metadata. This site does not add analytics tracking scripts.
The app uses authenticated services and server-side purchase checks. No system can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device and account secure, and never share sign-in codes.
8. Changes and contact
We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change. Material changes will be identified here or communicated through the app where appropriate. If you have questions, or want to exercise applicable access, correction, or deletion rights, contact the operator below.
